Iran to Produce 100,000 Hybrid Cars

Provision 13 of Budget Law 85 impels the nation?s auto manufacturers to produce 280,000 light hybrid cars by 2007. So far, the company has produced 7,000 bi-fuel natural gas/gasoline powered vehicles and the plan will soon be extended to all the models with the exception of Peugeot 206. The engine is licensed from Daimler Chrysler.
